Privacy Policy
Last updated July 31, 2026
This page is maintained by the Share Pay It Forward team to explain, in plain language, what information we handle and why. It is not a legal certification or an audit result.
What we collect
- Membership payments. Your email address and the payment details you enter are handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store your full card number. We keep the payment amount, fee breakdown, timestamp, and your email so we can send receipts and publish accurate fund totals.
- Member record. When your payment succeeds we create a member record with a random “ripple code”, your email, and the code of whoever referred you (if any).
- Grant requests. What you type into the grant form: name, contact email, description, public proof link, and whether you are a member.
- Basic analytics. Aggregate page views, referrer, country, and device type. No advertising trackers and no cross-site profiles.
What we do with it
- Process your $5 membership and send you a receipt and member link.
- Count how many people joined through your ripple link.
- Review grant requests and follow up about them.
- Publish the monthly Ripple Report using totals only — never individual emails.
We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it for advertising. There are no referral payouts, so we never share member details with other members.
Who else touches your data
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Our hosting and database provider — running the site and storing records.
- Our email provider — sending receipts, member links, and grant confirmations.
How your member page is protected
Your member page is reached with a private, randomly generated ripple code. It is not listed, not indexed by search engines, and cannot be looked up by email or by guessing a name. Anyone holding your link can see your member page, so treat it like a private bookmark — the shareable version (/?ref=…) points to the home page, not to your page. Emails are never displayed in full on the site.
Retention and your choices
Payment and membership records are kept for as long as needed for accounting and public fund transparency. Grant request details are kept while the request is under review and for a reasonable period afterward. You can ask us to correct your details, delete your email from our records, or unsubscribe from emails at any time — every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and you can simply reply to any of our emails to reach a person.
Children
Membership is intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top and note it in the Ripple Report. Questions? Reply to any email from us, or reach out through the contact form.
